Kabaddi guide
Kabaddi betting means predicting the result of a kabaddi match, most often in the Pro Kabaddi League. The main markets are match winner, handicap, total points and top raider. All outs and super tackles can swing the score within seconds, so live prices move quickly.
This guide covers the scoring rules first, then each market and the research behind our picks.

The rules
Seven players a side take turns to raid. A raider has 30 seconds to touch defenders in the opposition half and get back; each defender touched is out and worth a point. If the defenders hold the raider, they score instead. A Pro Kabaddi match is two halves of 20 minutes.
How kabaddi betting worksMarkets
Match winner, handicap and total points are offered on most kabaddi matches. During the Pro Kabaddi League you will also find player markets such as top raider, top defender and Super 10, plus first all out. Some sites also open live markets during play, which move quickly after a super tackle or an all out.

Low skillBack the team that wins. League matches can end in a tie, so some sites offer three outcomes and others void two-way bets on a tie.
Anjali's note: Read the tie rule before you bet.
02
Medium skillOne team starts with a points head start or deficit, such as India -8.5. The favourite has to win by more than the line.
Anjali's note: Sharpest market in one-sided fixtures.
03
Medium skillOver or under a combined score for the match. Bonus, all-out and technical points all count because they are part of the official score.
Anjali's note: Two attacking sides with weak defences push totals up.
04
Medium skillWho leads after the first 20 minutes. First-half lines are lower because fewer all outs have happened yet.
Anjali's note: Teams that start fast don't always finish fast.
05
High skillThe player who scores the most raid points in the match. Usually a team's lead raider, but rotation can change that.
Anjali's note: Check the starting seven before backing a star.
06
High skillThe player with the most tackle points. Corners and covers on strong defensive units do well here.
Anjali's note: Weak opposition raiders mean more tackle chances.
07
High skillYes or no on a raider scoring 10 or more points (a Super 10) or a defender scoring 5 or more tackle points (a High 5).
Anjali's note: Only worth it on a player you track closely.
08
High skillWhich team inflicts the first all out. It often decides the momentum of the first half.
Anjali's note: Watch for a side running thin on the mat early.
Research
Raiding form and defensive tackle points matter most, followed by how players hold up in the second half. Squad rotation and the home leg can tip a close match either way. Check which raiders start, because a side's lead raider sitting out changes the handicap more than any other team news.
A side with two in-form raiders can beat teams above it in the table. Track successful raids per match over the last five games.
Strong corners stop star raiders and set up super tackles. A defence that leaks raid points will struggle against any good attack.
Some raiders fade after half-time. Split raid and tackle points by half to see who finishes strongly.
One missing raider changes a total points line. Confirm the starting seven before the match.
Pro Kabaddi travels from city to city, and the local team plays in front of its own crowd during its leg. Visiting raiders feel that noise.
In play
Watch the number of players on the mat. All outs bring two bonus points and reset the mat, so they cause the biggest live swings, and the odds start moving before the all out happens. Do-or-die raids and rested raiders move prices too.
Our live betting guideAn all out is close, and the two bonus points that come with it are already moving the price. A tackle by those three defenders is also a super tackle, worth two points.
The next raid is do-or-die: score or the raider is out. Strong defences pick up easy points here, and live totals lines are slow to account for it.
When a team's main raider is out or substituted for a spell, the handicap can drift further than a short absence deserves. Check when they can come back.

When every player on one side has been put out. The other team scores two extra points and the full side returns to the mat. All outs cause the biggest swings in live kabaddi odds.
A tackle made when the defending side has three or fewer players on the mat. It is worth two points instead of one, which is why live odds move when a team is down to its last few defenders.
Watch for the moments that swing the score: a side down to three players, a do-or-die raid after two empty ones, or a lead raider being rested. Compare the live price with a pre-match fair price and only bet when the move looks bigger than the match situation.
A Super 10 is when a raider scores 10 or more points in one match. The defensive equivalent is a High 5, five or more tackle points.
