Why does a bowler's role matter so much?
Wickets come from overs, and not every over is equal. Bowlers who take the new ball and bowl at the death face batters who are taking risks, so they get more chances. In a T20 each bowler gets at most four overs, which keeps the market tight.
- Find out who bowls the powerplay and the final overs. Those two phases produce the most wickets.
- A part-time spinner might bowl one over or none at all.
- In ODIs a frontline bowler can bowl ten overs, which favours the main strike bowler.
